Jesse Presutti won the boys under-17 title at the David Hearn Junior Open held at Rockway Vineyards Golf Course on Oct. 1 and 2
Brampton, ON (October 4, 2016) – Kyle Chung and Jacob Presutti, who play out of the Brampton Golf Club, each won individual titles at the David Hearn Junior Open Oct. 1 and 2 at Rockway Vineyards.
In the junior boys’ (under 19) division, Chung finished with a total of 109 after the 27-hole event, a score of one-under par, three strokes ahead of the second-place finisher.
Christopher Michael Soliman from Mississauga finished in a tie for third with a score of three over 117.
Presutti, a Brampton resident who attends St. Marcellinus Secondary School in Mississauga, won the juvenile (under 17) division. He had a total of 112, four over par and won by six strokes.
Max Wang also of Brampton had a score of 124, to finish in eighth.
In the bantam (under 15) boys’ division, Owen Kim from Mississauga finished in a four-way tie for second with a score of 119, 12 over par. The winner. Bavake Sihota from Caledon, had 106, to win by 13 strokes.
Justin Chong from Mississauga wound up tied for sixth with a 123 total.
The tournament, held in conjunction with the Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA), is a new initiative launched by PGA Tour professional David Hearn, who was born in Brampton but grew up in Brantford.
