Brantford’s David Hearn has positioned himself for a great finish this week at the PGA Tour’s OHL Classic at Mayakoba in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
Following an opening-round 68 on Thursday that had him tied for 29th, Hearn shot a second-round 65 on Friday that put him in a tie for fifth at nine-under-par.
Hearn’s round on Friday included seven birdies, 10 pars and one bogey.
The Brantford Golf and Country Club member trails leader Michael Putnam who is at 12-under-par after rounds of 66 and 64.
Hearn tees off at 10:55 a.m. local time (11:55 a.m. eastern) on Saturday for the third round.
This will be the 35-year-old’s final PGA Tournament of 2014.
