BRANTFORD – David Hearn has been a fixture at the Brantford Golf & Country Club for many years. Now the club is going to thank him for being the face of the sport in the city.
In a ceremony on December 15, the local club will make Hearn an Honourary Lifetime Member.
Golf writer Rick Young spoke to BG&CC general manager Matt Kerr recently and confirmed the date.
“I am incredibly humbled to be given an Honourary Membership by Brantford Golf & Country Club,” Hearn said in a release. “BGCC, being the fourth oldest club in North America, is rich with tradition, and to be recognized in this way alongside so many other successful and prominent honourary members makes me very proud. Growing up in Brantford, BGCC was like my second home as I paved my way to the PGA Tour.
“BGCC has always supported my career, my family, as well as my charitable initiatives through the David Hearn Foundation,” he said. “And for that I am very grateful. I want to thank BGCC for thinking of me and I look forward to creating many more memories and friends through the club.”
Hearn, along with Adam Hadwin recently represented Canada at the ISPS HANDA World Cup of Golf in Melbourne, AUS. The pair finished at 10-under par to finish the event in a tie for 11th place.
